Pinoy: DIY Illinois Nursing License Application and Follow Up

Hello! To all nurses who want to process their own ILLINOIS license. This is how you file thru mail and follow up thru email. I've been through a lot of hurdles. So, may this guide will help you and clear up some confusion.

Yes! we can do it and it's very easy to follow. Some opt to let agencies process it, though we all know charges are quite expensive, more than half of the original charge/price. Just trust your gut and process it on your own, if you want to save.

Here's How_TIPID MODE:

📌   When Once you received your pass letter, simply follow the instructions: Detach and complete the bottom portion of the form and send it with the check or money order (Demand Draft) to Illinois Division of Professional Regulation, P.O. Box 7007, Springfield, Illinois, 62791it is totally fine not to write their phone numbers/email.

(courier: Philpost 1460 php you can track it on their website ( https://tracking.phlpost.gov.ph ) it will roughly take 4-7 days, not bad at all.lol)
So, if there will be no changes/error with your name & address just simply sign it. However, for name change ( marriage license, divorce decree, etc) submit/attach a copy of a legal document. For address change, simply print/write it. With the SSN, if you have a temporary SSN indicated, it's totally fine to write it down. Well, even though it's temporary mine was considered.

📌 Demand draft:
You can go to any bank and request a demand draft amounting to $50. I opted to BDO cause it was the nearest bank. They did charge me $5 in order to create one. Payable to the Division of Professional Regulation (DFR)
Make sure you have an account to do this. If you don't have any account in the bank, you may let someone you know create one on your behalf as long as it is
payable to DFR and just pay him/her afterwards.

Just a guide
📌 Just sharing my short story..I mailed my application as well as the demand draft amounting to $50, to the address indicated Aug. 30th then they received it Sept. 6th. It's already more than a month and I still didn't hear anything from them (IDFPR), so my anxiety increased. In addition to that, I've heard that I can follow up thru phone but they need fingerprint receipt or something(so if you email them no need to process another fingerprint). I know what you are thinking, its a hassle & additional money/payment will be needed.

With regards to SSN confusions, I've heard so many hearsay, like you need not have to write it if its just temporary, you need notary from the atty or have to call IDFPR to let them know that you are an international graduate or something like that, in order for them to fully process your license, and many more chika galore and again additional charges. lol. Don't bother.

IDFPR notification
So, I asked my friend in the US to call/follow up on my behalf and for security reasons, I know it will never be disclosed. The main purpose of the call is to ask a valid email address because I can't seem to find it online (IDFPR website). The options are mail/phone call. Anyway, I got it (Email: fpr.nurseunit@illinois.gov) and emailed them Oct 3rd, they responded Oct 24th. So, I suggest you email them as early as possible once you verified that they received your application.  Furthermore, since they need to verify details from you, I suggest you have to indicate that in your email, whatever is written on your application (name & address).

Once you click the link. http://idfpr.com/applications/getmylicense/select.asp
Input details provided .it's paperless, you can print this yourself

.

📌 For those who are asking if we can verify the license thru nursys website  (https://www.nursys.com), Yes, we definitely can. Just a reminder, do not worry too much if you can't verify it right after receiving your license # cause it takes quite some time for them to update the details. On my end, I'd say roughly 3-4 days before i can verify it thru nursys. So, for those who still doubt do not worry too much or stress yourself this is indeed valid 😊😊😊😊   Bwalaaah! it really worked.

If you have any query just post a comment below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Let us help one another and make this more interactive, If any of you can answer other queries then feel free to answer them.

God bless nurses..
May we continue to care and inspire one another

TRAVEL: Dealing With Stress

Pagadian Airport, Philippines (with one of my best friends Glyr/Bordz (left)

Keep Smiling!
Many believe that in every destination there is always a great place to wander. In addition to that, an awesome people to meet and hang out with. So, let us travel as much as we can while we are still able. Living with people makes us understand our true nature and help us become more humane. We just have to be open-minded about the possibilities, which is including stress.

What makes our travel more interesting/exciting? It is not our actual journey's end but it is actually the way we behave or our attitude along the way. True enough, getting away with circumstances during our adventures is almost impossible. It could be a miscalculation of our plan, dealing with irate people, expectations not met or even natural disaster. Guess what? It happens! So, shake it off! Let us not stress too much over the things that we cannot control. Instead, let us take a break or a time-out. Think about the things that we can do, control our thoughts and behave accordingly. Face the stressors, deal with it in good faith. It feels extremely good in the end if we handle it positively. Yes! we can be proud.
Patience is a must.

Having a positive outlook in life is definitely a good start to train our mind to be optimistic. No matter what issue arises, from raining so hard to getting soaked to a delayed flight, etc., there is nothing much that we can do, but to wait. Looking at the positive side, safety should always be a priority.  What if we force the flow of nature and then accidents occur. Everything happens for a reason. We cannot control the weather, yet we can control out thoughts. Be a master of our own-self. Not letting our emotions control us.

goofing around as a diversion (still stuck)
I'll touch something personal. My younger self was more like a happy camper but when i grew older I become hot tempered. However, when i think about it, I was only pulling a negative mantra towards me, instead of pushing it away (always grumpy, me against my own world). Ruining my whole day. Apparently swallowed by my pride and ego, instead of forgiving and understanding. I do not even bother thinking about other person's situation/story. I am acting like a crazy terrorist (LOL) in exaggeration. Just very disappointing. So, I step back, needing to assess myself and then I am learning. Using plethora of diversion such as deep breathing, relaxing, staying calm as much as possible or just by keeping my mouth shut if ever i don't have anything good to say. The process can be challenging but it leads to greater self awareness.

The world is so wide and our stay here might be short or if we are lucky we may enjoy more years. Life should't have so many restrictions and we do not always have to fight against it. Let it flow. Good stress is fine, if we know what to do, it will motivate us to look for different kinds of solution. Be convinced by the law of attraction. Staying positive always attracts positive results or otherwise. Let us learn from our mistakes and grow wiser.
